Called for a repair to the furnace which was 19 years old. Found the control board was in disrepair and cost to replace was $500. We discussed options and I decided the best course was to replace the furnace as it was near the end of it's useful life. They were able to install a new unit in only one day and I was never without heat. They took the time to explain all my options as well as make suggestions about filters and how they effect the performance of the furnace. I am very satisfied and have had a great experience. W. Exceeded expectations throughout the bid, installation, and followup. During the bid the owner took extra time to recommend solutions for air flow issues we had with original solution that other bidders didn't cover. Professional team arrived on installation day that went out of their way to do the job right including clean up. We decided to get our furnace replaced this year in November because of the tax break and it was also old and very inefficient. I started calling, got 2 other quotes and almost went with one of them. We decided to get 1 more that is when we called Angell Aire. Curt was on time had the best quote and could fit us in he felt before the week was done even if he needed to have one of his guys do it on Saturday. He called the next day to inform use that they would do it on Saturday at 8:30 am. The first guy showed up on time saying that more would be more joining him later then started work by putting tarps down. I asked him how long it would take, he said around 4 hours. At different times there were 4-5 guys working to get the furnace in. After they were finished installing the furnace and humidifier they went over how everything works. I have a two stage furnace and Mark took the time to make sure after he corrected the apparent issue that it would function properly. We settled on the bill while we waited the 12 minutes for the second stage blower to function. Keep in mind it appeared to be fixed at this point. After the 12 minutes had passed, Mark took the time to investigate why it still didn't work to his expectations. So over the next hour, unbilled, after we "thought" it was fixed Mark took the time to do the job right. We were very happy with Angell Aire overall. We just moved to a new house that was in foreclosure. Besides the furnace we had other gas related work that was no big deal for this company. They charged only $75 for that work. The estimate for the entire project was exact and we got a 5% discount for paying with a check. Everything went smoothly, from talking on the phone with the office gal, to the estimate to the install and to the follow up after the city inspection. Crew arrived on time at 8:00 am, had old system out and new system in and running by 2:00 pm. They cleaned up, removed and disposed of the old furnace and air conditioner as agreed. We were very pleased with their work and courtesy. When needing to use a torch to join new lines, they warned us that the smoke detectors might go off but had a couple guys fanning away the smoke to minimize this. Angell Aire gave us the most competitive price about $1,000 less than another company quoting the same equipment. Craig Angell and his crew responded immediately after the fire happened to survey the damage and help us to decide what needed to be done. Craig helped us work with the insurance company to determine what would need replacement. Because of the extensive smoke damage, it was agreed that the entire heating and cooling system as well as the duct work would need to be replaced. Since we were replacing the entire system, Craig advised us to add an air source heat pump to the new system in order to take advantage of favorable off-peak electric rates that the power company offers on such equipment. After examining the benefits of a heat pump, it became clear that it would pay for itself in about 3 years because of the savings in propane gas which is very costly in our area. Craig then proceeded to give us a bid for the work and it compared very favorably to other bids we received. After we totally gutted the house and cleaned and sealed the framing, Craig’s employees proceeded with the installation. His people were always there when they said they would be, offering helpful suggestions and explanations to us as the work progressed and finishing the work in a timely manner. The technician was very professional and took the time to explain everything as he was fixing it. Though the furnace is 25+ years old, he did not try aggressively to cross sell another unit, parts ect.
